Christmas...

Hi, Merry Christmas! 🎄 Hope you guys are all having an amazing week. I am going to do a update for you all! I had a few music concerts this weekend. A concert with my home school band and also with OYOA. They both went really well. In the home school band I had some duets and even a quartet. We played all Christmas music. The quartet was Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch. It was really fun to do. I had two duets one was with a Saxophone and we played The First Noel. The second one was with another Clarinet and we played Silent Night. Another thing that is new is youth group. I started going to the youth group at the MET. That is the church that I go to for bible quizzing. A couple of my friends from quizzing go to youth too so I know some people. Basically what we do is have a talk and then some free time in the gym. We also have small group. The small groups have 5-12 people in each one. They try to take kids from the same area as you live. Mine has 4 people and then our leader. So fa...

NEWS ALERT-

Hey everyone, I hope your all having a good December day. Here it is a bit rainy. There are several things that are happening here. I got the last wire for my braces. The dentist said before too long I'll be able to get them out!! So I'm super excited about that!! Bible Quizzing is going well. I am finding it a bit easier to memorize. It is also starting to be more exciting and fun! I love my team and coach too!  The church that bible quizzing is at has a youth group. I asked to go there so I will be starting there soon. Not sure whether I will start this Tuesday or in January though. I am really excited about that. Youth group is when a bunch of people your age get together and learn about God. They also do some group activities and team games!! 😄 So that is my news. I am really excited for Christmas!! Anna-Lee Bless God in everything you do.

Best week ever

Image
Hey everyone, I hope you all are having a good week! My grandparents were up this week for my moms birthday! They stayed for my quizzing tournament that was Saturday. But they took me shopping for some Christmas presents because they want to get me what I want. I got a couple really cute shirts and sweaters so that I don't have to keep using my sisters! You guys are going to have to wait to see them though. I get them for Christmas!! But during the week we also drove through Rockcliffe. If anyone doesn't know what that is it is the rich neighborhood in Ottawa. Since I want to be an architect it was awesome! Another day we went to the Aviation Museum which was super cool. They had a computer thing where you could drive your own plane. Those things were amazing during the week but on Saturday they came to my bible quizzing tournament (thank you for coming). My team did pretty well not the first 3 winners but 4th in the B division! Now that that's done we start with ano...

Bible Quizzing

Hello everyone, I hope that you all are having a wonderful day, week, and month so far. The colors of the trees are amazing here. I don't think I've written to you guys about bible quizzing and so I am going to do that right now. I don't know really how to start. I've been doing quizzing for 5 full weeks now and coming fast upon my 6th. That means I have 50 verses memorized and several more for this coming week.  How quizzing works is you get into teams and compete against other teams to be the first one to answer the question. How you go about doing that is that on the seats there is a electric pad that beeps when you jump and lets the quiz master know when the first person has jumped. If you answer the question correctly your team gets points if not then you loose points. We have tournaments where anyone can come and watch us compete. Basically like a open house.  My first tournament is on Nov. 5. Every year they choose a book of the bible, this year we're lea...

Remebering

Image
Hello everyone, As you all know we take pictures of everything exciting. So I went back in our files to look at some of the photos that were back when I was little. I found many photos of me doing things that I hadn't remembered but now I do. It sparked many of my happy moments. Yesterday I found a photo of me in a pair of my moms heels. So I made a collage, more like a before and after photo of me. The first one has me when I was 4 or 5 wearing my moms heels and my feet sliding down to the toe part. The other photo is of me, ready for the ball that I told you about. It is amazing of the similarities and the differences. Why I enjoyed putting the shoes on is a mystery. They are so big on me it is hilarious!! I also found some other photos. I found an adorable photo of my friend Mia and then some other photos of me skiing with Mia. Then I found my birthday party photos. So I made another one dedicated to Mia and my friendship. It is a very adorable collage and it is sure to make...

Promised photos and more news.

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a wonderful week and first days of October!! I am quite sorry about the photos of UCV that are not working. But I have gotten the better ones now so you don't need to worry!!! The good ones will be at the bottom of this page. The ones from the previous post will need to be redone with my dad. I hope you like the other ones that Mylene took. They all have me and my friend Mia from last year in them. Her cousins (Sierra and Sawyer) are in one and Duncan is in a one as well. At Upper Canada those were my friends that I mostly hung out with. Mia, Sierra, Sawyer, and Duncan. Arise School of Dance (where I used to dance) put on a Father Daughter Ball this past Saturday. It was very fancy and formal. We learned how to do many different dances. The ones I remember the names of are ChaCha, Box step, Rumba, and Chicken dance. It was a very nice evening. The Friday before my parents and I went shopping for a new dress for me for the ball. We came...

Whoa. It's like my blogs birthday!!

Hey everyone, So I have been super busy. Getting back into routine just for it to be wrecked again by the Carp Fair!! Again I went every single day and loved it all. It was so much fun. There was a ride called Cliff Hanger and it was amazing. It made you feel like Superman. On the next blog post I will put the video of it on so you can see. It is pretty cool!! This year instead of going with all my friends on the same day I went with Mia on Thursday night and Sophie and Mairead on Friday. On both of the days we had a lot of fun. I think I had about 60 mini doughnuts throughout the whole weekend of the fair. It was awesome. I ate so much junk food I am surprised I am not sick and in bed!! The Avalanche, Strawberry's, Sizzler, Loony Lagoon, Bumper Cars, Ferris Wheel, Ali Baba, and Extreme Adrenaline Rush!! Those are all rides I really like, the only one we didn't get on is the Bumper Cars. Another thing is that I have gotten the photos from Erin though we are supposed to be g...

I have been in the past!!

Yes people I have!! Hello everyone, I am back from 1866 which is my favorite part of history to visit!! As some of you may remember I have been to Upper Canada Village (UCV) before, last year and I decided to return this year. This year was as much fun as last year maybe even more!! Erin the lady in charge took many photos but it will take her awhile to send them to us! Here are some stories. I have about 56 hours straight of them!! So I can't tell you all of them for obvious reasons!! MANHUNT The best bonus of UCV is that we play manhunt after the park closes!! It gets dark so you are constantly coming very close to crashing into things!! I became it and was chasing a person. I lost my footing and fell on the gravel and slid. I ripped my new pants and my knee and my ankle both look GROSS!! My friends did some stuff on me (they called it first aid, I would have called it saving me from infection.) It still is pretty tender and my friend said it would be for awhile!! IN...

Hey people!!!!!!!

Hi, I hope you are all having a GREAT summer!! I am for sure looking forward to the end (I know it sounds weird, your thinking what kind of kid wants summer to be over)? ME!!!!!!!! I am really looking forward to learning a new curriculum and (your going to laugh) go to the Carp Fair!!!!!! The Carp Fair is the best thing EVER. I am going to do some research and find out the things I need to know for being an architect and we'll work on that sort of stuff during the school year. That's why I am sounding crazy and telling you I'm looking forward to September!! I also am looking forward to being able to focus on music. I am going to try for the OJYO (Ottawa Junior Youth Orchestra) instead of Senior Winds. I am OK with going into Senior Winds again I just think I would like to try and see. If not I know that I have another chance! Love to all, Anna-Lee

Who made Paris what it is today??

Image
Hi everybody, Today I am going to teach you a brief yet amazing history lesson. For some of you this may not be new -  for some it may be, but whether new or not, I hope you think it interesting and learn something new. There is always something you haven't learned! Saturday my dad and I went to the Museum of History here in Ottawa. Their special exhibit right now is Napoleon and Paris. As you all might know I love history and architecture. My favorite kind of architecture is French architecture. Anyways I promised you I would teach you a bit of history, so... Napoleon became a soldier and rose to command I think he was either Emperor or something uppity like that! At his crowning he decided he would like to crown himself so he did. Usually it would have been the Pope. Whatever, I thought that was kind of weird (but who cares, he was weird)!! He married the very beautiful Josephine and was happy. But Josephine was not giving him any kids so he got rid of her and married anoth...

Loads of stuff happening

Image
Hello everyone, I am sorry I haven't blogged in so long. I have gone down to Toronto to help my grandparents move into an apartment (their apartment is really nice), I also had my annual music camp (it was so much fun), and of course I got new glasses (they're nice)!! I will start with what happened first. Getting my glasses. My glasses this time around are purple and black. They are basically the same size and they help me a whole lot more. I also have music glasses which help me look at music. They are not really for reading but kind of in between distance and reading. They also help a lot. These ones are pink. I will put a couple photos down at the bottom of the page. The next thing that happened was going down to help my grandparents (this one was planned)!! Their apartment is on the 14th floor (13th technically). It is very nice open, bright, lots of space. It has a nice pool and exercise room, it even has a sauna (gross). So far a bunch of things have gone wrong in t...

Recital 2016!!

Hi guys, Sorry I haven't blogged for awhile. I have been doing stuff though and here I am to show you what's going on. Recital 2016 with clarinet happened. I played two pieces which I put underneath so you could listen. I also did my Grade 4 exam for music (RCM). I have no idea how I did though when I get my marks I will be sure to tell you.  There are the two videos below for you to watch, sorry if it's a bit blurry. Enjoy!! The Swan (don't fall asleep) Carnival of Venice (my favorite) Ok, so I hope you enjoyed the music. Next blog post will be me with my new glasses. I now am getting music glasses which means that they are not distance and are not reading but are in the middle so will be able to see my music when it's on a stand (they're called intermediate glasses). I also am getting a new prescription for distance so I have two new looking glasses. The rest will be a mystery (for you who won't see me this weekend) till I blog (those you...

Blogging

Have you ever wondered why I blog? I love blogging because I can tell all of you guys what I like doing and what's new in my life. I love sharing what I'm doing and getting your input on what I am doing. I got a question from one of my friends and they asked me if it bugged me that my blog was online.  I am not bugged by it. I wouldn't do it if I was bugged by it. It is fun not knowing who is reading my blog; for all I know some famous person could be reading my blog! Thank you for reading this blog. There will be  a couple of photos from Centerpoint Theater coming. Anna-Lee

We're done Cinderella

Did you know that Cinderella's real name is Ella? She is just called Cinderella because she works with cinders. I only realized that because I watched the new Cinderella movie. Hey everyone, The shows went really well. I finished the last show of Cinderella till December on Saturday night. It was a great turnout and lots of fun. The party afterward was super fun. I got reunited with my good friend that started attending a ballet boarding school in Montreal. She is so good now! The show on Friday didn't go as well. There were lots of mess ups and the music didn't work great. I don't really like school shows anyway though. I liked the afternoon show on Saturday. We were  sold out, 1,000 seats! It ran pretty smoothly. No major mix ups that I can remember. In the evening show one girl sprained a muscle in her ankle and she couldn't dance anymore. She was sharing a change room with us and she had to put ice on it and she couldn't walk. Her ankle was huge too, it...

Looking back

Image
Hello everyone, Have you ever looked back at photos, journals, blogs, or high school graduation diplomas, etc...? Well I recently looked back at all my ballet programs! With my first show, I didn't even remember half of the people that were there. Then, I went back onto my blog and looked at the very first photo I ever put on my blog. It was so long ago. Then -  me at ballet, and jazz. Me when I was 10, 11, and now 12. Now I can't wait to see what I look like when I'm 13, 14, and 15. I have a photo of my friends and me on my dresser. The photo was taken when I was turning 8. We all look so young. Remember when I put the link of Les Petits Ballets on the blog. I found a couple of photos of me and my class when we were 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. We were so cute and our teacher was such a good teacher for that age.  I remember such weird things about being a little kid. I ask my mom whether she remembers these things and she doesn't. I remember the little details about being a ...

keep calm and live life on-

What better advice can you find than that? You just need to put your troubles, sorrows, and depressing thoughts behind you and live your life like you don't have anything to worry about. I love it when you don't have anything on your shoulders that you have to do (like summer). I love it when I have nothing on and I can read, play with friends, play games, jump on the trampoline, and do stuff that I love to do. That is it. Today I am starting my exhausting week at Centerpoint Theater for Cinderella, I am sure that I will have much fun though as well!! My teacher loves to put pressure on us but when we do a good job she says so. Anna-Lee

Fly!

Image
Hello everyone, Yesterday I went to a friend's birthday party. I had so much fun. We went to Skyzone Trampolining. It was interesting. There are four different things to do there: a dodge-ball court; basketball court; foam pit; and a trampoline for people to do flips and that. My favorite place was just the normal trampoline. They have it all broken up into about 50 small trampolines and you each get your own. You can do whatever you want on your own trampoline. Some people come and do flips and they are so good. I can't do a flip even if I tried. Mia and I tried to do split jumps and succeeded surprisingly. The foam pit was my next favorite thing there. You have a little trampoline and then you jump into a big pit full of foam. Lot's of people did flips for that too. We then went to Swiss Chalet. It was super good. I loved getting reunited with two people from Upper Canada Village that I met last year - James and Duncan. They are the children of the coordinator for Uppe...

Molly

Image
Hey everyone, How are you all today?? Today I am going to talk about the best cat ever... Molly. Molly does really cute stuff sometimes. My favorite though is when she crawls under your blankets and sleeps there. I have a couple stories of when I almost sat on her because she is literally under the cover. My mom sleeps with a beanbag so that she is warm and sometimes she leaves them in the bed during the day. So they look like a lump, Molly also looks like a lump when she is under the covers so sometimes we think she is a beanbag and sit on her or I've even jumped on her. Oh well maybe she needs a sign like Garfield. STOP. THINK. CAT'S HAVE CLAWS. That is what her sign should say. Another exciting thing is that my friend Mia (Beijer) turned 13 in the beginning of April and this Sunday I am going to her party. Her party is at SkyZone Trampolining. You get to play games and all on a trampoline. Mia is the girl that I met at Upper Canada Village. She also came to my birthday ...

Cinderella

Hey everyone, I just realized that I haven't talked to you very much about Cinderella. The show is rapidly approaching. 13 days till we are in Centerpoint. We are all working very hard and looking forward to being in the show. We are finally in the very finale part of the show, their wedding. And who knew it would be this hard. Our teacher thinks that we have it pretty well now though. I am looking forward to doing it in costume, with an audience, and make-up. Somehow it so different than doing it in a studio sweating, your hair falling everywhere, and feeling very UN-pretty. Anna-Lee

the world is so beauty full

Image
Hey everyone, How are you guys today?  What did you do over this glorious weekend? I was out in capris and a T-shirt this weekend and was still hot. It was so nice. Yesterday my parents, my friend, and I went for a walk in a nature path. It was very nice. There was a lot of wild-life. Chipmunks, chickadees, baby snakes, even a hibernating bumble bee. They were all neat to see though I do not like snakes. I left the holding them to all the other people there. I did feed the chickadees from my hand though. They are so cute. I have not fed them for a very long time and I had forgotten how small and light they are. My dad saw the hibernating bumble bee and got a couple photos of it. Basically it had dug a hole in the ground and was sleeping. We went down one path and it had a beaver dam at the end of it. If we were there later we might have seen the beaver, but we didn't. We are going to go back out soon and see if there is any change in the beaver dam or anything. Anna-Lee Here a...

New look

Image
Hello everyone, On Tuesday I did a drastic change in my look. I got bangs and I got a very layered very wavy style. I got the style off the internet and am very pleased with it. According to someone I know the photo is of Carrie Underwood. I thought of a really cool idea. I am going to give you a before and after photo of me, and you guys can either email me or put your comment down below of which one suits me better. I won't be offended if you say my other one. I just want to know what you think. I also got another batch of fake nails. My friend Sophie and I did them the same. Kaelynne did a different pair. Mine are sort of funky (Sophie's choice, I like them a lot though). Kaelynne`s are more like French nails. I have more photos than anything else today so enjoy! My new hair, down! My thumb, with the fake nails. My new hair, up My new hair, from the side Old hair!! SO LONG!! ...

SNOW!!!

I know... it's April. I know... we're getting snow. Am I excited? No. If I could still ski and play in the snow and have fun in the snow that would be different. But all the snow is muddy anc disgusting and it's slushy and it's.. April. It is exactly one week till my sister's birthday. I wish that it was June and sunny and warm. But I went to walk the dog today, and I was more dressed for winter than I was on Christmas day! We have more snow than we had on Christmas day for that matter. I keep on thinking about the pool and bathing suits and that and then you walk outside and you are like "NEVER MIND"!! Anyway on to a brighter subject. I have decided to paint my room. My dad said he would help me in May after my Cinderella performance. My colors are: on the longest wall in my room and my closet, aqua blue with BIG white polka dots. On all the other walls, a light pastel pink. My friend told me it was going to look like cotton candy. But I think it is su...

Me my funny and me my serious.

Image
Hello out there, I am very pleased to announce that I can be serious. My friends and maybe my family will know that I can get pretty silly, if I want to. Here are some things that I am serious about and some things I have fun with. SERIOUS There is nothing wrong with being serious. The thing is that when people are serious the people around them turn serious and that means that you can't be funny. If you live your whole life being serious then you won't ever make anybody laugh or even smile, unless they laugh at your seriousness. Anyway what I am trying to say is that you can be serious when you need to be but don't waste your time being serious. Funny Sometimes, I think people get too funny. I only get funny when there is something to be funny about. When I read a funny book or watch a funny movie I laugh. I think my favorite thing to do ever is laugh. When someone makes me laugh I thank them; it always makes me feel more happy and bubbly. Have you ever listened to th...

Disappointments

Life is full of them and you can't make that disappear. Unfortunately. My result for my ballet exam was very disappointing to me. I hate it when you think you did well and yet you did so terribly. I certainly thought that I had done well. But when I got the mark it was not what I had expected. My mom and dad were trying to tell me that even though I might have gotten a rotten mark from my exam I am still the same person and to not let that mark be a label for me. I am still disappointed but I now know that I am still a good daughter and sister and whatever else I might be. That is my blog post for today, Anna-Lee

Phew! Glad thats over!

Image
Hello everyone, A couple days ago I had my ballet exam. I think it went pretty well, a few mistakes but that is normal. I am such a perfectionist when it comes to dance and school and pretty much everything. So that means I am a lot harder on myself than I need to be. It is good to push yourself but if you push too hard you will get discouraged and sometimes even hurt. That is why I don't like exams. I always tell myself that I did terribly and am so depressed and then when I get the mark and it is actually pretty good I feel like I am being tricked. It is weird and kind of scary actually! I have been told over and over by teachers and friends that I am doing well but I don't think so, so basically I have to choose one person to believe (me or the people around me)! Recently I learned how to trust the other people around me and I find that really soothing!! It is awesome. Even though I still like things to be done perfectly I need to learn that nobody is perfect! Only God is ...

God loves rabbits, but He died for us!

Hello, I hope everyone is very happy and well on the blessed (yet back 2,000 years ago cursed) holiday. Jesus was considered cursed because anyone who died on the "tree" was cursed. Did you know back when the Israelite's were wandering the wilderness for 40 years and until Jesus died, they had to sacrifice a lamb or other animal so that God would forgive their sins. But since the first Easter we don't have to do that anymore. Now God can forgive through the blood of Jesus, and I just put two and two together. THAT is why they call Jesus the Lamb of God. I find that interesting. That was just the fun fact of the day! Anyways, I am very glad to be able to tell you that my braces are starting to feel much better! They (I am hoping) are starting to make a difference in my teeth. And I hope that I will be done with them ASAP (as soon as possible). Thanks to my friend if they start hurting I have a solution. DRINK CAMOMILE TEA!!!  And I have been drinking quite a lot...

Smile- Part THREE!!

Image
Hey everybody, I now have HOT pink teeth. Well... actually hot pink braces, which are on my teeth now! I got them on today, I would say that the appointment went well. Getting the brackets on was terrible it was a 5 minute process for each tooth so I had to sit there 5 minutes for 24 teeth. Once they were on it wasn't so bad because then the thing that keeps your mouth open comes out and they thread the wire through and put the elastics on (the colorful part)! They are hurting a little bit but not very much unless the brackets get caught to my cheeks. The brushing and flossing is a lot different than without braces and it will definitely take time getting used to. Here are a couple photos-

Smile!!!! --Part two--

-Beep-Beep-Beep- Brand new news!  As you all know my teeth have been bugging me for awhile and I went to the dentist and we had set a date for me to get my braces on (May 26)! Well yesterday my mom called to see if we could get in any sooner because my teeth were hurting bad and it was painful for me to eat! They said that no they didn't have any spaces for that length of an appointment but they would put me on the waiting list tn case anyone would cancel an appointment. Well this morning we got a call saying that they have an opening tomorrow (Wednesday) from 10:30-12:30 and that if I wanted they could put my braces on then. I said yes and so now I am going to have braces by 1:00 tomorrow afternoon! I am a bit nervous though I have already gone through the appliance procedure with my last appliance so I know all the ups and downs of it. I will blog with photos and stuff tomorrow if I have time. Can't wait to see the surprised looks of all my friends faces!! Will keep ...

Skiing Again!!

Image
Hello, As most of you know my sister is part of C.A.D.S a skiing organization for people with disabilities. They go to Mont Ste. Sauver every year. This year Mia B. came with my sister and me. We had so much fun. At Mont Ste. Sauver there are two different ski hills that they connected at the top so that you can just go from one side to the other. So compared to all the other hills around here it is twice the size!! Mont Avila was not that great this year. It was really bumpy and had a bunch of snow all over the hill in giant mounds. But Ste. Sauver was really good and we had lots of fun there. Our favorite was way over on the other side of the hill from where the chalet was. It has houses that are right there next to the hill; they are all really cool looking! Since I want to be an architect it was neat seeing all the houses there. Here are a couple photos- Me skiing down the hill! It is so warm there that I am skiing in a hoodie! No face warmer either and I am still sweating li...

Smile!!!

Hey everybody, New news!! I am getting braces on the 26th of May. I know all of you thought I had perfect teeth after I got rid of my other appliance. And I did have better teeth. But no,  I have crooked teeth. They hurt a lot sometimes too, especially when I am eating hard stuff. So I am going to get braces and put myself in even more pain then hopefully I will have better teeth and no pain!! I am so excited to be able to choose different colors, I love choosing colors and I will be allowed to do so every six weeks. I have to go to the dentist every six weeks to get them tightened and get new elastics which is the down-fall of all this. I will keep you updated and put a photo on my blog  when I get them. Anna-Lee Whether your smile is pretty or not doesn't matter. What matters is the thought you put into the smile!

Change of plans

Hello everyone, I have been thinking!! I love dance and I love pointe and the shows and everything that goes into the shows, but I really don't like the exams and the really long hours of dance anymore. So I thought why not do something I really like again. Horseback riding is top on my list so I have been looking and I think that I may start riding again starting in summer possibly. A couple other things I want to try to either get back into or try new are SHEP Plus again and I am also looking at Bible Quizzing. Bible Quizzing is when you are in a team and you meet at a church. You get bible verses to memorize. They do it in 8 week blocks. On the 7th week they review all 60 verses that they learned and memorized and then on the 8th the other churches in Ottawa come and compete against all the other teams. Then every year they compete against a church in Toronto, either they go down there or the Toronto team comes up here. On the first weekend of May they all go to Joy Bible Camp ...

Disney On Ice Video

I was able to take video at Disney On Ice. Here is one of Olaf singing Summer from the movie Frozen.

Disney on Ice

Image
Hello everyone, A few days ago I did something that I have never done before. My friend and I put on fake nails. They are quite interesting and very long. It was hard to get used to them because they are so long. I like them though. Something that I found out after I put them on is that they glow in the dark! I found that very interesting. Here are a few photos- These are them. The ones with all the colors glow in the dark. My thumbs. A close up of the ones that glow. Yesterday my dad and I went to Disney On Ice! It was a lot of fun. All the princesses came as well as Finding Nemo, Toy Story, and best of all Frozen. I loved Frozen and how they did it was cool. Anna, Olaf, and Kristof were really good at doing their parts. It really made me feel like I was there. Olaf was so funny when he was singing "In Summer"!! They did lots of neat moves that made me think that if I even tried to do any of those things I would fall on my face! No kidding. Here are some phot...
