NEW BLOG

Hey everyone so, I decided to start a new blog. it's not with blogger anymore it's with WordPress. I hope y'all will keep reading about me on my new one. here is the link  https://annaleeleilani.wordpress.com I won't be posting anything else here though. so, go subscribe over there and I'll see y'all there!! BYE

Am I a stereotypical teenager?

What do you think of when you hear the word teenager? I've heard many things, the most common are sarcasm, dating, teen pregnancy, swearing, dropping out of school and smoking. The sarcasm apparently comes with being a teenager, it has become a stereotype that all teenagers are sarcastic, ungrateful messes. I want to prove that not all teenagers are like that. I know many of my friends certainly aren't like that and they're mostly all teenagers. So let's go through and prove everything untrue! The thing that I hear the most is that all teenagers are moody, sarcastic and rude all the time. Now I am not going to say that I am never moody or rude but I am going to say that I have my nice moments and I do actually like being with my family and friends. All people have their nice moments I think. Also don't tell me that adults can't be rude and sarcastic because that's just a lie if you think that's true. I do acknowledge that most teenagers and people...

Why I respect beggars

Money. It separates everyone. It stereotypes people. Poor, in-between and rich. Rich people talk to rich people, poor people talk to poor people and then there is... everyone else. You're probably wondering why I named this post what I did and I'll explain but I had to get that view on money before I began. Have you met people who lie about how they're doing? People who say they're doing good but really they're not. People who are so proud that they need to keep this shell of themselves being perfect. They're insecure that you're going to judge if they actually say what is going on? I've met people like that too. It's impossible not too because so many people are like that now. That's why I respect beggars. When I was writing this I didn't really want to refer to them like that. I didn't want to put that name on them but I don't know how else to get this message through. Why do I respect them you ask?  They're humble. They ...

Unique 4

When you become a Christian you become part of the body. The Christian body also known as the church. Everyone in this body has his or hers unique part to play. 1 Corinthians 12 explains all this so lets go and dive in. 1. We are all uniquely gifted- :11 As God wills He gives us a different gift individually. There are these "gifts" called spiritual gifts. They are given to you by the Holy Sprit. For the most part every Christian will have one because there are so many . I personally have the gift of giving. I love to give and help people but for others it will be different. The neat thing is that God gives them to us because he knows us so well. 2. God put the Body together- :18 Each of us have a part. Like it is the actual human body a foot walks a hand holds a eye sees and so on. 3. All Body parts are needed- :22 Again it is the same as a human body. If you don't have a foot then it doesn't work very well. Also you are never the same if you don't hav...

Unique 3

God sent a unique sacrifice for us. His one and only Son. This is perfectly explained in John 3:16. In four simple steps I am going to explain how and what that means. 1. God so loved me  - :16a  God loves us each individually. He knows us all personally and He still sent His Son for us ! 2. God sent His Son to die... for me - :16b God did die for all of us but when He was dying He was thinking about us all separately.  3. Without Jesus, I perish - :16c Many Christians only half believe that you will actually go to hell without Jesus. You will though. 4. With Jesus, I live forever - :16d With Jesus you don't go to hell and you don't perish. Instead you live forever with him.  There is something I have never thought about before and that is that everyone will live forever. You can do it in eternal torment or you can live with the one and only God forever. It really is your choice because you send yourself to hell by not accepting God. Doe...

Unique 2

Everyone is put in their year for a reason. This talk was based on Esther, who was put in her time for a purpose. That purpose was to save all the Jews. 1. We are all placed in a Unique Time and Place. - For a purpose that only God knows. 2. I am expected to live with integrity.     - Chapters 1-2 - You may be thrown into the deep end but God is with you always. Try your hardest. Do the big and small thing for God. 3. I must stand only for what is right, with wisdom.      - Chapters 3-4 - Take risks for Jesus. Do something in person for Him. Don't rely on social media to do the taking for you. 4. I must leverage my position and power to further the kingdom.      - Chapters 5-10 - Use everything that has been given to you and make God's kingdom bigger. Why was I born here and now?? Am I living my life in a way that can be used by God?? Do I stand for Him in the little ways??

Unique

Welcome to a four blog series. They were so good that I wanted to share them with everyone here. Please stay tuned for the three more that I am going to post. It will all be in one week. PSALM 139:1-6  God knows us.  God knows things about you that you don't know about you. He knows you're future, the number of hairs on your body and more! PSALM 139:7-12 He is always with us He is the friend who won't leave you alone. He's always around, constantly listening and always ready to give you a hug. There is nothing you can do to get away from Him. PSALM 139:13-16 He created us God loves us because He created us. He knit us together. He is proud of the creation that He made. You know when a small child drew something and is eager to show someone and the person doesn't seem to care as much as the child. That only makes sense because the child made it. This creation is part of the child. God created us in the same way. PSALM 139:17-18 He thinks about us He th...

You aren't alone

Hello everyone, I expect many of you are surprised that I am not raving over the retreat that I went to this weekend. But I have decided to tell you about that some other time. This post has been on my heart and mind for awhile now and I decided to finally do it so here it goes. Have you ever felt like everyone is watching you, judging you and whispering about you? Have you ever felt so insecure that you brought the collar of your shirt up so you could hide, or your hat down and your scarf up? Have you ever thought I am the only one who feels like this, I am the only one who is homeschooled, the only one who is Christian, the only one who doesn't watch that show or the only one who doesn't listen to that music? I have too. Here are some courage points that everyone needs to have. (1) Talk to someone about how you're feeling. I wouldn't be surprised if they're feeling the same way or if they have felt that way before. (2) Be sure of yourself. Whether it means...

A letter to my past self πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ

Dear Self, This is your future self here. I am in debt of all you did. This is a letter showing gratitude, joys and happinesses of all that you did for me. Along with a couple corrections that I wish you had done.  If you don't know why I am so thankful perhaps you should think about it a different way. If you didn't do what you did and had given up on me then I wouldn’t be where I am. If you hadn’t stepped out of our comfort zone and made friends, auditioned for different things, talked to people and on and on you never would have prepared me for life of being a teenager or an adult.  I remember you all the time. The adventures, pain, love and lots and lots of laughter. i especially remember the good times we had. But every now and then (a lot of the time when I am doing my hair) I remember you driving down the stairs on your play car. I could’ve done without that because I still have the bump on my head. πŸ˜”   I loved your laughter when you played with Monic...

We're finished...

Hello everyone, πŸ‘‹πŸ» I have officially done one year of Bible Quizzing. 😲 We had our last tournament this weekend as I mentioned before. Thank you all for praying. 😊 My team got into B Division semi-finals. We were pretty happy with it too. I am going to try to describe our tournament to you by day so that you can know what we were doing this whole weekend. FRIDAY- As always I had soccer. Except that it wasn't normal because on THURSDAY  my parents had left for Hamilton. They couldn't drive me so we asked my friends family and they were amazing and came and got me and brought me to soccer. My friend and her brother also do soccer. Soccer was fun. We did a bunch of miniature games and then some relay races. The Pearce (the family that drove me to soccer) also drove me to the bus along with some other people who do soccer. We all drove to meet the bus. We got there and were a bit early but then we get a phone call that the bus is going to be 30-45 minutes late because the ...

Subscribe and Songs

Hello everybody, I hope that you all have had a wonderful week and that you continue having a great week. As someone I know say "have you had 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 kind of week." But that is not what I wanted to blog about. Recently I have been writing songs not necessarily the music but the lyrics mostly. I thought that I could show a few. A couple months ago I wrote the song called Background and put it on this blog (if you haven't read that go do that now). But that is not the only song I have been writing here are a few more. I Sing- (Verse 1) When I walk by myself and my friends not there When I'm pretendin' to listen but really care When I'm in the shower and doin' my hair (Chorus) I sing... to You... The Maker of all things. It makes me feel like I breathe in more than air.  (Verse 2) When I should be doin' school but I'm textin' my friend When I'm bein' bullied and I can't defend  When I'm en...

This weekend

Hello everybody! This coming weekend in going to be crazy! Absolutely hectic. So I thought that I would tell you all about it. That way my family can get all the prayer we need! Our crazy weekend begins on Thursday when my parents leave. My mom is speaking in Hamilton at a homeschool conference (prayer request number one). My grandparents are coming up to help do the things around house. They will be here on Wednesday! Thursday I have to start getting ready for my last Bible quizzing tournament. It is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday like always I have soccer except that instead of coming home I get to go with my friends and drive to the bus and go to Joy Bible Camp in Bancroft (second prayer request). We're all really excited for this tournament and everyone says it's the best tournament ever. On Saturday we quiz all day BUT the very last quiz A FINALS is on Sunday morning. That leads us onto something else. Why can't I be there? I have a concert on Sunday (third ...

Another blog

There is nothing very new this week. I am sorry that I posted a blog on Friday (if you haven't read it you should do that). But here I am on a Monday as I have promised. On Saturday I went to a homeschool conference. As you all know I am homeschooled by my mom. The association that we use for homeschooling meets yearly. There is a youth track for youth ages 13-18 and this year I was allowed to go! They have 4 speaker for the youth track and many for the adults. The speakers for the youth were very good. There was Sam Oosterhoff a MPP at age 19 (still is 19 which makes him the youngest MPP in the history of Canada). There was Jason Lindsey who works with teens teaching them about money and business. There was a police officer named Cory McAree. He works with teenagers and he talked about Peer Pressure. Then there was Alan and Naomi Gilman (their family owns Arise School of Dance. That's where I used to dance). They talked about taking risks for Jesus.  So that was my Satur...

My Informal Essay

Hello everyone, Yesterday I was writing and John 3:16 kept on popping into my head. So, I wrote an essay about that scripture. I thought that it would be for my own private use but when my mom read it she said it really spoke to her. I thought that maybe I would put it on here and maybe it will speak to you guys too. So here goes. - John 3:16 -  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  I know that scripture is one of the most common scriptures in the bible. But it’s popular for a reason. John is telling the whole story of Jesus in 26 words. I want to try to pull apart those words and see if we can grow in our faith.  The fist part is “For God so loved the world”. That’s amazing. I know that people say that if I created something I would most likely love it too. But really would I if whatever I created had sinned, fallen apart and disobeyed me? I suppose it’s just like...

Harlem Globetrotters. πŸ€

Image
Hello everyone, Have you ever laughed so hard you cried? I have. That is not exactly what I did on Friday night but pretty close. I went to the Harlem Globetrotters basketball game. It was so much fun. You don't just watch basketball. It's an entertainment basketball game. They throw water on people, they do CRAZY stunts, they crack jokes, they climb things. It's insane. On Friday I did so much stuff. My friend and I went to a mall to get some snacks for the party that was on Saturday. It was a nail party. We did it to fundraise for missionaries. Because each small group in youth group has a missionary that they write to and give money to. That's what Kingdom Assignment is. Each small group get $100 to use to make more money in a creative way! After we got home from shopping I had school. Then just like every Friday now I had soccer. I loved this soccer practice though. It was a lot of fun!! The week before I hadn't had a lot of fun I was new and didn't kn...

This Changes Everything

Hello everyone, I hope that y'all are having a great start of the week. I am part of Young Writers Workshop (YWW). One of the people who runs it just got her first book published. She is 19 and is one of very few teenaged authors published. To show our support for her we're telling everyone we can about her book. We also want to let publishing companies know that teenagers writing is what we want! That people like their decision to publish Jaquelle. Her book is called This Changes Everything. How the gospel can transform the teen years. I am in the process of reading it and am loving it so far. She writes as if she's right here in front of you and having a conversation. She doesn't go so deep that you fall asleep but it's not light and airy. She writes about things people may have heard about but never gone into deep thought or discussion about. This Changes Everything certainly changed by perspective on life and the bible. If you're interested in looking...

Soccer ⚽️

Image
Hello everyone, Yesterday I started soccer. It was a lot of fun and I hope that I will become better at it. We meet every Friday before we go and get Mairead from dance. But I was so surprised when my friend from Bible Quizzing came in. I knew that I would know people from band that I do but no clue that I knew people from quizzing and dance when I did that!! Seems like forever ago when I was doing dance. Basically we just spent our time getting to know each other and then did some workouts then played the game. I am going to try to put up a photo here so that you can see me while we were playing the game. It's a bit blurry, sorry about that. I hope that there will be more news next week. Anna-Lee Soccer

2 in 1 and an apology

Hello everyone, I hope that you all are having a good day!! I don't know whether I've told you this before, but my favourite day in the week is Tuesday's. You might know that on Tuesday's I have youth group. Youth group is definitely my favourite part of Tuesday's. I also noticed that I have never talked much about youth. I've told you a few small things. But really a talk like what I write about clarinet and used to dance doesn't exist on my blog for youth group. Also at the bottom there will be some really interesting song critic info. In school I used to do this one subject where my mom would look up the lyrics and then make some questions. But that will come later! πŸ˜€  So, youth first. I have been going now since before Christmas. I have to say I was pretty nervous at first going there. I didn't know anyone except for some people from Bible Quizzing. That now feels like a blessing that I've been doing Bible Quizzing. I am able to hangout wi...
