Carp Fair

Hello, As many of you know the Carp Fair was on this weekend (Thursday night, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)!! I had lots of fun this weekend! On Thursday night my dad and  I went together, we only went for about 1 hour!! It was a lot of fun. It was only the midway that was open. On Friday I went with all my friends! We watched the Superdogs. My favorite dog was Popcorn, a little Chihuahua!! He was so tiny that when he had to jump over the round tubes he had to climb up and scurry over them! They did a Hollywood theme so instead of being Hollywood it was Hollywoof!! They had some races and they had high jumping, Frisbee toss, skipping rope, and dancing!! We also did a lot of Midway and we went shopping. I got this really cool baseball cap that says Superman on it!! I went on a ride that makes you go slightly upside down - face first like you are flying. I couldn't  wear my Superman cap though as it would have flown off! It was lots of fun. It was called the Extreme Adre...

Hello, Guess what I did on Saturday? I spent 2 hours in a room that was probably 30 degrees Celsius having lots of fun!  i was at the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy playing in the Senior Wind Ensemble! Two weeks ago I had an audition and was promoted from Intermediate to Senior Winds! There are lots of people that I recognize. There were some from last year. The French hornist is there and a bassoonist is there from last year! There are also 2 other homeschoolers. One plays the flute - she also did Arise School of Dance for a while. Then there is a boy who is in grade 12 - he was homeschooled till grade eight! I know a few others. One moved up last year, but was in my group 2 years ago. The others mostly I know from music camp (read blog post "stories" to hear more about it!)  What I really like is that our conductor is my clarinet teacher, Shauna. She is a really good teacher and she is a great conductor as well! We did lots of very fun songs, like In the Hall ...

Hello, From Wednesday to Friday I have been at a sleep away camp at Upper Canada Village! It was lots of fun and it was very interesting. We were dressed up as children in 1866. We went to school, we cooked, we sewed, and we did farm chores like milking the cow, working in the garden, feeding the pigs, and giving water to the horse!! The boys worked in the tin smith and the black smith, they also worked  with the wood maker, and on the farm milking the cow, cutting wood and putting it in the wood pile and pumping water for the girls to take to the horses!!  We also played games such as baseball the way we would have played it in 1866, pass the ring, and hide the handkerchief. At the end of the program everyday we would play man hunt after supper. It would get dark and we would be running around in the village. For those who have never been to Upper Canada Village it is about 2 km long! We could go anywhere. It was a lot of fun!!!!!!!!! I made a couple new friends: ...
